Climate Change and The World I want to Live in

A CREATIVE WRITING CONTEST

Since prudence in current scenario calls for social distancing, we at the SolarMaxx thought this is a good time for children and families to think about climate change, sustainability and plan their homes waste management or simply become more environment conscious. While you are at home and encouraging your child to explore a path towards conscious living during holidays we would love to hear from our children about their major concerns and solutions their way.

DRIVING CHANGE THROUGH THOUGHT

With this initiative we only hope to raise some environment consciousness among our fellows and help drive change through thought. When little minds think and get to action we never know when another young climate activist like Greta Thunberg in born from amongst us.
SolarMaxx is a solar power solutions provider working towards a greener future. We feel that charity begins at home and our mother earth needs us the most in this time of climate crisis. And hence, we choose to make children our green crusaders. Because one bright thought can make a big change.

Things To Do At Home

While kids are home, why not home school them on lifestyle matters. Taking some positive time out from the COVID-19 fear and enhancing our own environment at home is the greatest gift one can give to their families at this moment. Be safe, be secure, stay home, and spend quality time together to make a difference to your own small world. Let excessive inflow of information on Corona Virus not bother you in your home environment, instead use the time to:
– Create a Family Disaster Management Plan
– Develop a Waste Management System at home – Recycle and start composting
– Know what you eat – do you trust the source
– Go Minimalist – de-clutter some closets
– Grow some plants / trees together
– Make a Energy Saving Plan for home – are you using renewable energy
– Follow a Family Fitness agenda – a healthy lifestyle
– Did you think about water harvesting?
All in all, there are so many things we can change in order to lead an environmentally conscious life. From lowering our fuel consumption and opt for cycling or carpooling, to using solar panels to power our homes. These may seem like big concessions, but they are actually improvements that will restore the environment and enrich our lives for a better future.
